About FlameDate — and our 18+ policy
FlameDate is a free dating site and community. This page explains who we are, how the site is funded, and why parts of it are restricted to adults.

If you arrived here from the age question on our homepage, that was deliberate. FlameDate carries adult dating content and is intended for people aged 18 or over — or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher. We do not route anyone who tells us they are under 18 into that content.
If you are under 18, please close this site. There are far better places to spend your time, and services such as Childline, Kids Helpline and your local equivalent exist if something online has made you uncomfortable.
What FlameDate is
FlameDate is a free dating platform and an open discussion community. The dating side is free to use: browsing, matching and messaging carry no charge and no card is required. The community side is a forum where members compare dating platforms, share what worked and argue about what did not.
How the site is funded
FlameDate carries partner links to other dating platforms. When a member follows one of those links and signs up, we may be paid. That funds the free tier. It does not change what members write in the forum, and it does not mean a linked platform is endorsed by us — several threads on this site are distinctly unenthusiastic about platforms we link to.
Safety basics
- Never send money to somebody you have not met in person, regardless of the story.
- Keep the first meeting in a public place and tell somebody where you are going.
- Do not move a new conversation off-platform in the first few messages.
- Block and report rather than arguing. It is faster and it helps everyone else.

Forum threads are member discussions and represent the views of the individual members who posted them, not the position of the site. Where a guide names a platform we have a commercial relationship with, that relationship exists whether the guide is positive or negative about it.
