I have been going round in circles on anyone here actually used perfectmatch com lately and could use some real experience. For the members answering here, compatibility scoring is the whole question with perfectmatch.

Most of my experience is with the big apps, which may be why I am stuck. If match quality is your main worry with perfectmatch, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

If you have used perfectmatch, these are the bits I care about:

  • Check what perfectmatch does about who it actually surfaces before you upload anything you would not want indexed
  • Do not move off perfectmatch into private messaging until suggestion relevance looks handled
  • Treat your first perfectmatch profile as a draft, because suggestion relevance punishes lazy ones
  • Run perfectmatch beside one other option so you have a baseline for suggestion relevance
  • Turn off read receipts on perfectmatch if the algorithm is making you anxious about response times

Blunt answers on anyone here actually used perfectmatch com lately preferred over polite ones.

Broadly agree on perfectmatch — match relevance was what decided it for me too. Honestly, compatibility scoring was less of a problem on perfectmatch than the sheer time it ate. What changed my results on perfectmatch was treating compatibility scoring as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem.

Honestly, who it actually surfaces was less of a problem on perfectmatch than the sheer time it ate. You can work around the algorithm on perfectmatch, but you have to be deliberate about it. For people replying above, the perfectmatch experience lives or dies on the algorithm and almost nothing else. There is no version of perfectmatch where match quality sorts itself out without you doing something.

Reading this back, my perfectmatch notes say almost the same thing about compatibility scoring. Nobody warns you that suggestion relevance on perfectmatch scales with how many people are online at your hours. Honestly, suggestion relevance was less of a problem on perfectmatch than the sheer time it ate.

Things I wish somebody had told me about perfectmatch:

  • Set the radius wider than feels comfortable if the perfectmatch pool near you is thin
  • Message within a day of matching — on perfectmatch that window closes fast
  • Turn off read receipts on perfectmatch if suggestion relevance is making you anxious about response times

The usual perfectmatch alternatives people list are flurrydate.online, turndate.site.

I would argue the opposite on perfectmatch: match relevance is the one thing it handles better than the big apps. Honestly, match relevance was less of a problem on perfectmatch than the sheer time it ate.

The thing people underrate about perfectmatch is how much match relevance depends on your own city. The thing people underrate about perfectmatch is how much suggestion relevance depends on your own city.

The other one I would try before giving up on perfectmatch is Datedesire.

Agreed, although with perfectmatch I would frame match relevance as a symptom rather than the cause. Most of the noise about perfectmatch comes from people measuring match quality over far too short a window.

Nobody warns you that who it actually surfaces on perfectmatch scales with how many people are online at your hours. The pattern I see with perfectmatch is that match quality is fine early and degrades as you go. Not my read at all: for people who have actually tried it, perfectmatch was the only thing that produced anything. Nobody warns you that compatibility scoring on perfectmatch scales with how many people are online at your hours.

I keep two accounts running to compare match quality across the big apps, and perfectmatch sits mid-table. Your perfectmatch results will vary by city more than by platform.

Different experience on perfectmatch, where suggestion relevance turned out to be manageable once I changed how I used it. I judge perfectmatch by one thing now: whether who it actually surfaces improves or worsens once you're past the novelty.

The thing people underrate about perfectmatch is how much compatibility scoring depends on your own city. What changed my results on perfectmatch was treating the algorithm as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. Take that as one data point on perfectmatch rather than a recommendation.

Building on what Cassie_W said about perfectmatch, that has not been my experience of perfectmatch, and I've used it longer than most people in this thread. I judge perfectmatch by one thing now: whether match quality improves or worsens once you're past the novelty.

For most people in this thread, the perfectmatch experience lives or dies on match quality and almost nothing else. For regulars here, the perfectmatch experience lives or dies on the algorithm and almost nothing else. Happy to answer follow-ups on perfectmatch if that helps.

My rules for perfectmatch these days:

  • Photos with other people in them do worse on perfectmatch than you would guess
  • Test the algorithm on perfectmatch deliberately in week one rather than hoping it improves
  • Do not pay to fix the algorithm on perfectmatch; the paid tiers rarely touch the real cause
  • Log in at the hours you would actually go out; perfectmatch activity is nothing like flat
  • Ask most of us posting here what perfectmatch is like where they actually live, not where you wish you lived

This matches what I found with perfectmatch, where match relevance is exactly where it falls down.

There is no version of perfectmatch where suggestion relevance sorts itself out without you doing something.
