Short version: dating apps ranked by user satisfaction this year. Long version below. What I care about with satisfaction is the effort-to-result ratio more than anything else.

For context I am mostly comparing no-payment dating sites rather than anything niche. The thing people underrate about satisfaction is how much the effort-to-result ratio depends on your own city.

Things about satisfaction I have not worked out:

  • Check what satisfaction does about the payoff before you upload anything you would not want indexed
  • Do not move off satisfaction into private messaging until the effort-to-result ratio looks handled
  • Treat your first satisfaction profile as a draft, because the time it costs punishes lazy ones

Anyone with a recent dating apps ranked by user satisfaction this year story, please jump in.

Where I differ from Zach Holt on satisfaction: disagree, because blaming the hours-to-dates ratio lets you off the hook — my satisfaction results improved when my profile did. I keep two accounts running to compare actually getting anywhere across the free-tier sites, and satisfaction sits mid-table.

For the members answering here, the satisfaction experience lives or dies on the payoff and almost nothing else. The pattern I see with satisfaction is that the hours-to-dates ratio is fine early and degrades as you go. There is no version of satisfaction where the payoff sorts itself out without you doing something.

Honestly, the return on the hours was less of a problem on satisfaction than the sheer time it ate. What changed my results on satisfaction was treating the return on the hours as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem.

Broadly agree on satisfaction — the time it costs was what decided it for me too. I keep two accounts running to compare the payoff across free platforms, and satisfaction sits mid-table. For people replying above, the satisfaction experience lives or dies on the effort-to-result ratio and almost nothing else.

I judge satisfaction by one thing now: whether the time it costs improves or worsens once you are past the novelty. I judge satisfaction by one thing now: whether the return on the hours improves or worsens once you are past the novelty. There is no version of satisfaction where the return on the hours sorts itself out without you doing something. Either way, the return on the hours is the thing I would test first on satisfaction.

Jess_Online is right about one part of satisfaction: this matches what I found with satisfaction, where the time it costs is exactly where it falls down.

If the hours-to-dates ratio is your main worry with satisfaction, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

A smaller name people rarely mention in satisfaction threads is Souldate.

Reading this back, my satisfaction notes say almost the same thing about actually getting anywhere.

Honestly, actually getting anywhere was less of a problem on satisfaction than the sheer time it ate. Whatever you pick, judge satisfaction on actually getting anywhere after a month rather than after a weekend.

I would argue the opposite on satisfaction: the return on the hours is the one thing it handles better than no-payment dating sites. You can work around the return on the hours on satisfaction, but you have to be deliberate about it.

Nobody warns you that the effort-to-result ratio on satisfaction scales with how many people are online at your hours. Nobody warns you that the time it costs on satisfaction scales with how many people are online at your hours. Take that as one data point on satisfaction rather than a recommendation.

I keep two accounts running to compare the effort-to-result ratio across the free end of the market, and satisfaction sits mid-table. The pattern I see with satisfaction is that the time it costs is fine early and degrades as you go. Happy to answer follow-ups on satisfaction if that helps.

Worth a look alongside satisfaction: Turndate, if only to see how differently the return on the hours can be handled.
