Asking because if you had to pick a 1 dating site, which would it be keeps coming up and I still cannot get a straight answer. My problem with dating site so far has been the hours-to-dates ratio.

Most of my experience is with no-payment dating sites, which may be why I am stuck. The thing people underrate about dating site is how much the payoff depends on your own city.

Concretely, for dating site:

  • Ask the members answering here what dating site is like where they actually live, not where you wish you lived
  • Block early and report often on dating site — it trains the feed faster than anything
  • Log in at the hours you would actually go out; dating site activity is nothing like flat

Even a one-line answer on if you had to pick a 1 dating site, which would it be would help at this point.

Picking up Olivia Grant's point about actually getting anywhere, yes, and I would add that the payoff on dating site gets worse the longer you stay.

I keep two accounts running to compare the return on the hours across no-payment dating sites, and dating site sits mid-table. Either way, the hours-to-dates ratio is the thing I would test first on dating site.

If you do try dating site, do this:

  • Give dating site a fortnight of daily use before calling the hours-to-dates ratio a dealbreaker
  • Treat your first dating site profile as a draft, because the return on the hours punishes lazy ones
  • Message within a day of matching — on dating site that window closes fast
  • Do not move off dating site into private messaging until actually getting anywhere looks handled
  • Compare dating site against no-payment dating sites on the same week, or the comparison is meaningless

That has not been my experience of dating site, and I've used it longer than most people in this thread. You can work around the time it costs on dating site, but you have to be deliberate about it. If the return on the hours is your main worry with dating site, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

What changed my results on dating site was treating the time it costs as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. You can work around actually getting anywhere on dating site, but you have to be deliberate about it. Either way, the effort-to-result ratio is the thing I would test first on dating site.

People also mention datingfly.online, datedesire.online whenever dating site comes up on this board.

StaceyR put the dating site case better than I would have, though respectfully no — complaints about the time it costs on dating site usually come from people who gave it a week.

Honestly, the time it costs was less of a problem on dating site than the sheer time it ate. Nobody warns you that the hours-to-dates ratio on dating site scales with how many people are online at your hours.

My dating site baseline these days is Souldate, mostly because the time it costs is measurable there.

That feels too harsh on dating site, given actually getting anywhere is a problem across the free end of the market rather than specific to it. There is no version of dating site where the hours-to-dates ratio sorts itself out without you doing something.

For most of us posting here, the dating site experience lives or dies on the return on the hours and almost nothing else. Your dating site results will vary by city more than by platform.

Names that come up repeatedly in dating site threads: datewander.site, datescout.site, datebie.online.

I would argue the opposite on dating site: actually getting anywhere is the one thing it handles better than free dating apps. For people replying above, the dating site experience lives or dies on the hours-to-dates ratio and almost nothing else.

What changed my results on dating site was treating the effort-to-result ratio as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. There is no version of dating site where the effort-to-result ratio sorts itself out without you doing something.

Anyone comparing dating site on the time it costs should probably add DatingFly to the list.
