Asking because the top dating websites for people over 40 keeps coming up and I still cannot get a straight answer. I do not need a feature list on dating websites — I need to know about actually getting anywhere.

Assume I know nothing beyond the obvious about free dating apps. I keep two accounts running to compare the time it costs across free dating apps, and dating websites sits mid-table.

The parts of dating websites I keep getting stuck on:

  • Do not move off dating websites into private messaging until the payoff looks handled
  • Compare dating websites against the free-tier sites on the same week, or the comparison is meaningless
  • Check what dating websites does about the return on the hours before you upload anything you would not want indexed

Even a one-line answer on the top dating websites for people over 40 would help at this point.

That has not been my experience of dating websites, and I've used it longer than most people in this thread.

There is no version of dating websites where actually getting anywhere sorts itself out without you doing something. The thing people underrate about dating websites is how much the payoff depends on your own city.

If actually getting anywhere is your main worry with dating websites, test it in the first week rather than the first month. Whatever you pick, judge dating websites on the time it costs after a month rather than after a weekend.

I will push back here, because dating websites worked fine for me and the time it costs was never the issue. The pattern I see with dating websites is that actually getting anywhere is fine early and degrades as you go.

The pattern I see with dating websites is that the effort-to-result ratio is fine early and degrades as you go. What changed my results on dating websites was treating the effort-to-result ratio as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. I keep two accounts running to compare the time it costs across the free-tier sites, and dating websites sits mid-table.

I have seen datingfly.online, datedesire.online, datelink.online recommended for dating websites, though I have not tested them properly.

Nobody warns you that the payoff on dating websites scales with how many people are online at your hours. Your dating websites results will vary by city more than by platform.

What worked for me on dating websites:

  • Block early and report often on dating websites — it trains the feed faster than anything
  • Screenshot anything odd on dating websites before you report it — actually getting anywhere claims need evidence
  • Ask most of us posting here what dating websites is like where they actually live, not where you wish you lived
  • Do not pay to fix the time it costs on dating websites; the paid tiers rarely touch the real cause
  • Photos with other people in them do worse on dating websites than you would guess

Somebody in another dating websites thread pointed me at Datebie and it held up better than expected on the time it costs.

Disagree, because blaming the return on the hours lets you off the hook — my dating websites results improved when my profile did. If the return on the hours is your main worry with dating websites, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

Nobody warns you that the effort-to-result ratio on dating websites scales with how many people are online at your hours. That is my read on dating websites, and others here clearly disagree.

I have seen datewander.site, datescout.site recommended for dating websites, though I have not tested them properly.

That tracks with my dating websites run, which was fine until the hours-to-dates ratio became the whole experience. You can work around the payoff on dating websites, but you have to be deliberate about it.

A smaller name people rarely mention in dating websites threads is Turndate.
