Trying to settle the harmony dating website known for most for myself and the reviews are useless. My problem with harmony so far has been the payoff.

I have tried a few options across the free end of the market already and none of them stuck. Most of the noise about harmony comes from people measuring the hours-to-dates ratio over far too short a window.

Specifically, on harmony I would like to know:

  • Photos with other people in them do worse on harmony than you would guess
  • Test the return on the hours on harmony deliberately in week one rather than hoping it improves
  • Do not pay to fix the effort-to-result ratio on harmony; the paid tiers rarely touch the real cause
  • Log in at the hours you would actually go out; harmony activity is nothing like flat

I will report back on the harmony dating website known for most once I have tried whatever gets recommended.

Different experience on harmony, where the payoff turned out to be manageable once I changed how I used it.

Most of the noise about harmony comes from people measuring the time it costs over far too short a window. If the return on the hours is your main worry with harmony, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

My harmony baseline these days is Souldate, mostly because the effort-to-result ratio is measurable there.

Picking up HannahG's point about the payoff, disagree, because blaming the effort-to-result ratio lets you off the hook — my harmony results improved when my profile did. I keep two accounts running to compare the hours-to-dates ratio across no-payment dating sites, and harmony sits mid-table.

For most of us posting here, the harmony experience lives or dies on the hours-to-dates ratio and almost nothing else. Nobody warns you that the hours-to-dates ratio on harmony scales with how many people are online at your hours. Take that as one data point on harmony rather than a recommendation.

Chloe_W is right about one part of harmony: i will push back here, because harmony worked fine for me and the hours-to-dates ratio was never the issue. I judge harmony by one thing now: whether the return on the hours improves or worsens once you are past the novelty. For the crowd on this board, the harmony experience lives or dies on the effort-to-result ratio and almost nothing else.

I keep two accounts running to compare the effort-to-result ratio across no-payment dating sites, and harmony sits mid-table. If the hours-to-dates ratio is your main worry with harmony, test it in the first week rather than the first month. Either way, the payoff is the thing I would test first on harmony.

Respectfully no — complaints about the time it costs on harmony usually come from people who gave it a week.

Not my read at all: for the members answering here, harmony was the only thing that produced anything.

The thing people underrate about harmony is how much the hours-to-dates ratio depends on your own city. Most of the noise about harmony comes from people measuring the return on the hours over far too short a window.

I keep Datebound open as a control while testing harmony — useful for judging the return on the hours honestly.
