Asking because any rules against broadcasting with a partner on a gay video chat roulette site keeps coming up and I still cannot get a straight answer. the hours-to-dates ratio is what makes or breaks broadcasting for me.

Most of my experience is with live video rooms, which may be why I am stuck. The thing people underrate about broadcasting is how much the return on the hours depends on your own city.

What would actually help me judge broadcasting:

  • Turn off read receipts on broadcasting if the payoff is making you anxious about response times
  • Set the radius wider than feels comfortable if the broadcasting pool near you is thin
  • Run broadcasting beside one other option so you have a baseline for the payoff
  • Give broadcasting a fortnight of daily use before calling the time it costs a dealbreaker

I will report back on any rules against broadcasting with a partner on a gay video chat roulette site once I have tried whatever gets recommended.

That has not been my experience of broadcasting, and I have used it longer than most people in this thread. I judge broadcasting by one thing now: whether the return on the hours improves or worsens once you are past the novelty. What changed my results on broadcasting was treating actually getting anywhere as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem.

What changed my results on broadcasting was treating the time it costs as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. Nobody warns you that actually getting anywhere on broadcasting scales with how many people are online at your hours. For queer members, the broadcasting experience lives or dies on the time it costs and almost nothing else.

A smaller name people rarely mention in broadcasting threads is Turndate.

I will push back here, because broadcasting worked fine for me and the payoff was never the issue.

Building on what RebeccaT said about broadcasting, different experience on broadcasting, where the time it costs turned out to be manageable once I changed how I used it.

Honestly, the time it costs was less of a problem on broadcasting than the sheer time it ate. Either way, the time it costs is the thing I would test first on broadcasting.

Jake_NYC is right about one part of broadcasting: different experience on broadcasting, where the hours-to-dates ratio turned out to be manageable once I changed how I used it. If the return on the hours is your main worry with broadcasting, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

I keep two accounts running to compare the time it costs across video chat sites, and broadcasting sits mid-table. The pattern I see with broadcasting is that the hours-to-dates ratio is fine early and degrades as you go. That is my read on broadcasting, and others here clearly disagree.

I keep Datebie open as a control while testing broadcasting — useful for judging the return on the hours honestly.

Building on what Aaron Brooks said about broadcasting, respectfully no — complaints about the effort-to-result ratio on broadcasting usually come from people who gave it a week. There is no version of broadcasting where the time it costs sorts itself out without you doing something.

I keep two accounts running to compare the return on the hours across streaming chat platforms, and broadcasting sits mid-table. I keep two accounts running to compare actually getting anywhere across video chat sites, and broadcasting sits mid-table.
