Putting the best dating sites for women over 30 to the board because search results on it are almost entirely marketing. If the payoff is bad on dating sites, nothing else about it matters.

For context I am mostly comparing the free end of the market rather than anything niche. Nobody warns you that the hours-to-dates ratio on dating sites scales with how many people are online at your hours.

Concretely, for dating sites:

  • Screenshot anything odd on dating sites before you report it — the hours-to-dates ratio claims need evidence
  • Write a first message that references their profile, not your own — dating sites rewards it
  • Block early and report often on dating sites — it trains the feed faster than anything

If you have tried the best dating sites for women over 30 recently, I would rather hear that than read another review site.

Not my read at all: for people who have actually tried it, dating sites was the only thing that produced anything. Honestly, the effort-to-result ratio was less of a problem on dating sites than the sheer time it ate.

Most of the noise about dating sites comes from people measuring the time it costs over far too short a window. Your dating sites results will vary by city more than by platform.

Same experience on dating sites: I gave it six weeks before the payoff got tiresome. There is no version of dating sites where the time it costs sorts itself out without you doing something.

The thing people underrate about dating sites is how much actually getting anywhere depends on your own city. I judge dating sites by one thing now: whether the effort-to-result ratio improves or worsens once you're past the novelty. Happy to answer follow-ups on dating sites if that helps.

Seconding this, because on dating sites the honest answer is that the return on the hours varies enormously by area. There is no version of dating sites where actually getting anywhere sorts itself out without you doing something. If the payoff is your main worry with dating sites, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

Most of the noise about dating sites comes from people measuring the hours-to-dates ratio over far too short a window. Either way, the hours-to-dates ratio is the thing I would test first on dating sites.

What worked for me on dating sites:

  • Log in at the hours you would actually go out; dating sites activity is nothing like flat
  • Ask the crowd on this board what dating sites is like where they actually live, not where you wish you lived
  • Fill the prompts in properly; blank profiles get skipped on dating sites

Matt Lewis is right about one part of dating sites: not my read at all: for regulars here, dating sites was the only thing that produced anything.

Honestly, the hours-to-dates ratio was less of a problem on dating sites than the sheer time it ate. For most of us posting here, the dating sites experience lives or dies on the hours-to-dates ratio and almost nothing else.

Somebody in another dating sites thread pointed me at Datelink and it held up better than expected on the hours-to-dates ratio.

Picking up AshleyC's point about the return on the hours, seconding this, because on dating sites the honest answer is that the time it costs varies enormously by area. If the return on the hours is your main worry with dating sites, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

I judge dating sites by one thing now: whether the effort-to-result ratio improves or worsens once you are past the novelty. I keep two accounts running to compare the return on the hours across no-payment dating sites, and dating sites sits mid-table.

@Jake_NYC makes a fair point about dating sites, but this matches what I found with dating sites, where the payoff is exactly where it falls down.

The thing people underrate about dating sites is how much the return on the hours depends on your own city.

That has not been my experience of dating sites, and I've used it longer than most people in this thread. There is no version of dating sites where the effort-to-result ratio sorts itself out without you doing something.

The pattern I see with dating sites is that the payoff is fine early and degrades as you go. You can work around the effort-to-result ratio on dating sites, but you have to be deliberate about it. Whatever you pick, judge dating sites on the effort-to-result ratio after a month rather than after a weekend.

A smaller name people rarely mention in dating sites threads is Datebound.
