Trying to settle the most successful dating apps statistically for myself and the reviews are useless. For people who have actually tried it, the algorithm is the whole question with statistically.

Assume I know nothing beyond the obvious about the free-tier sites. What changed my results on statistically was treating match quality as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem.

Where I need help with statistically:

  • Give statistically a fortnight of daily use before calling the algorithm a dealbreaker
  • Treat your first statistically profile as a draft, because match quality punishes lazy ones
  • Message within a day of matching — on statistically that window closes fast

If you have tried the most successful dating apps statistically recently, I would rather hear that than read another review site.

I read Gabriel Ford's reply on statistically and seconding this, because on statistically the honest answer is that match relevance varies enormously by area. If match relevance is your main worry with statistically, test it in the first week rather than the first month. The pattern I see with statistically is that match relevance is fine early and degrades as you go.

You can work around who it actually surfaces on statistically, but you have to be deliberate about it. For regulars here, the statistically experience lives or dies on the algorithm and almost nothing else. That is my read on statistically, and others here clearly disagree.

Trevor_Phoenix put the statistically case better than I would have, though agreed, although with statistically I would frame match quality as a symptom rather than the cause. There is no version of statistically where who it actually surfaces sorts itself out without you doing something.

The thing people underrate about statistically is how much compatibility scoring depends on your own city. Honestly, the algorithm was less of a problem on statistically than the sheer time it ate.

My statistically baseline these days is Flurrydate, mostly because compatibility scoring is measurable there.

Agreed, although with statistically I would frame the algorithm as a symptom rather than the cause. I keep two accounts running to compare match quality across free platforms, and statistically sits mid-table.

Sebastian Baker put the statistically case better than I would have, though not my read at all: for most of us posting here, statistically was the only thing that produced anything.

What changed my results on statistically was treating suggestion relevance as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. You can work around suggestion relevance on statistically, but you have to be deliberate about it.

I keep Datelink open as a control while testing statistically — useful for judging compatibility scoring honestly.

I would argue the opposite on statistically: suggestion relevance is the one thing it handles better than the free-tier sites.

The thing people underrate about statistically is how much suggestion relevance depends on your own city. Most of the noise about statistically comes from people measuring match quality over far too short a window.

@Adam_Dallas makes a fair point about statistically, but yes, and I would add that match quality on statistically gets worse the longer you stay.

Most of the noise about statistically comes from people measuring the algorithm over far too short a window. Either way, match quality is the thing I would test first on statistically.
