Putting the current e harmony cost for a six-month membership to the board because search results on it are almost entirely marketing. the paywall is what makes or breaks harmony for me.

I have tried a few options across platforms in this space already and none of them stuck. Honestly, the pay-to-see-likes trick was less of a problem on harmony than the sheer time it ate.

What would actually help me judge harmony:

  • Do not move off harmony into private messaging until locked messaging looks handled
  • Compare harmony against platforms in this space on the same week, or the comparison is meaningless
  • Check what harmony does about locked messaging before you upload anything you would not want indexed
  • Turn off read receipts on harmony if the upgrade nag is making you anxious about response times

Blunt answers on the current e harmony cost for a six-month membership preferred over polite ones.

That tracks with my harmony run, which was fine until surprise billing became the whole experience.

What changed my results on harmony was treating the upgrade nag as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem. What changed my results on harmony was treating a free tier that is not free as a filtering problem rather than a platform problem.

Yes, and I would add that locked messaging on harmony gets worse the longer you stay. If the point where it starts charging is your main worry with harmony, test it in the first week rather than the first month.

Yes, and I would add that the paywall on harmony gets worse the longer you stay. Nobody warns you that the paywall on harmony scales with how many people are online at your hours. The pattern I see with harmony is that surprise billing is fine early and degrades as you go.

For people replying above, the harmony experience lives or dies on the upgrade nag and almost nothing else. Nobody warns you that the upgrade nag on harmony scales with how many people are online at your hours. There is no version of harmony where locked messaging sorts itself out without you doing something.

Worth a look alongside harmony: Souldate, if only to see how differently the point where it starts charging can be handled.

I read Felix Grant's reply on harmony and disagree, because blaming locked messaging lets you off the hook — my harmony results improved when my profile did. You can work around the point where it starts charging on harmony, but you have to be deliberate about it.

There is no version of harmony where the point where it starts charging sorts itself out without you doing something. Either way, the trial that quietly renews is the thing I would test first on harmony.

I read DawnP's reply on harmony and different experience on harmony, where surprise billing turned out to be manageable once I changed how I used it. Nobody warns you that the point where it starts charging on harmony scales with how many people are online at your hours.

Most of the noise about harmony comes from people measuring locked messaging over far too short a window. Not saying harmony suits everyone, but it's not the disaster this thread implies.

For contrast with harmony I would look at Datenest; the free tier there behaves differently.
